The 'For All Centre', Weston-super-Mare

This major project (Value £2.6m) was completed in March 2005 and offers the local community a one-stop-shop incorporating a Church, Community Hall, Creche, Doctors Surgery and a Café.
The modest external elevations, enhanced by the church tower and feature brickwork, mask a stunning interior with vast open spaces finished in striking colours.
With so many interested ‘end users’ the project involved a large degree of PR and Site Manager Steve Mortimer frequently led parties around the site during the quieter lunch periods. Forging a direct link with the community Pollards held a topping out ceremony where local youngsters placed the last few roof tiles watched by Local and County Councillors.
The building was of steel frame construction on piled foundations with brick and rendered elevations externally. Numerous roof lights bring light into the building and the ceilings are clad in acoustic plasterboard. Mechanical and electrical services are sophisticated with the lighting being a particular feature.
The project is a great showcase for our ability to deliver a large and complex building to demanding clients whilst maintaining excellent relationships with all parties.
